This Privacy Policy explains what information WordKeeper (“we”, “us”) collects when you play WordKeeper (the “game”) or visit wordkeeper.store (the “website”), how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have. It took effect on 27 October 2026.
Who we are
The game and the website are operated by WordKeeper. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy.
Privacy questions and requests: theverbarium@gmail.com
General support: theverbarium@gmail.com
What this policy covers
This policy covers the game on Android and, when it is released, on iOS, and the website. Google Play, the App Store and the advertising and analytics services named below have their own privacy policies, which apply to the information they collect themselves.
Information we collect
Account information
The username you choose and an internal player ID that the game creates for your account. Your username is visible to other players in ranked matches and duels.
Gameplay data
Your progress and the items in your account: chapters and stages played, best rounds, heroes, keepsakes and their levels, coins, gems, energy, ink, chests opened, blessings chosen, ranked tier and season results, duel results and the room codes you create or join.
Device information and identifiers
Device model, operating system and version, language, country or region derived from your settings or IP address, app version, the IP address used to connect to our servers, and an installation or device identifier used to keep your account and progress on that device.
Advertising ID
If ads are shown in the game, Google AdMob collects the advertising ID of your device (on Android, the Google advertising ID) together with device and usage information, to show ads, measure them and prevent ad fraud.
Purchase records
When you buy gems or other items, Google Play Billing (or the App Store on iOS) processes the payment. We receive a purchase record: the order or transaction ID, the item, the price, the currency, the date and whether the purchase was completed or refunded. We never receive your card or bank details.
Crash and analytics data
Diagnostic data when the game crashes or slows down (stack traces, device state, app version) and usage events that tell us how the game is played, such as which stages are completed or where players stop. We use this to fix problems and balance the game.
Support messages
If you email us, we keep your email address, your message and anything you attach.
Website
When you visit the website, our server records your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time, in standard server logs. The website shows no ads and runs no analytics. See our Cookie Policy.
How we use information
- To run the game: create and keep your account, save your progress, give you the items you earn or buy, and run ranked seasons and duels.
- To process purchases, confirm them with Google Play or the App Store, and restore them.
- To show ads, including personalized ads where you have agreed to them, and to limit how often you see the same ad.
- To find and fix crashes and bugs, and to understand how the game is played so we can improve and balance it.
- To keep play fair: detect cheating, automated play and fraud, and enforce our Terms of Service.
- To answer your support requests.
- To meet legal duties, such as tax and accounting records, and to establish or defend legal claims.
We do not use your information to make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you based only on automated processing.
Legal bases for processing
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we rely on these legal bases:
- Contract: to provide the game, your account, your progress and your purchases.
- Consent: for personalized advertising and for reading or storing information on your device for that purpose. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests: to keep the game secure and fair, fix crashes, measure and improve the game, and show non-personalized ads that keep the game free. We balance these interests against your rights.
- Legal obligation: to keep purchase and tax records and to respond to lawful requests.
Advertising and consent
The game may show ads served by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC (Google Ireland Limited in the EEA and the UK). AdMob can show two kinds of ads:
- Personalized ads use your advertising ID and information about your activity in this and other apps to choose ads that may interest you.
- Non-personalized ads are chosen from general information such as the app you are using and your approximate location. They do not use your past activity, but AdMob still uses identifiers to limit frequency, measure ads and prevent fraud.
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, the game asks for your choice through Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP), a consent tool certified under the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework, before personalized ads are shown. If you do not agree, you get non-personalized or limited ads. You can change your choice at any time from the privacy options in the game’s settings.
On Android you can also reset or delete your advertising ID in the device settings (Settings, then Google, then Ads, on most devices). Google explains how it uses information from apps that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
In-app purchases
Purchases are made through Google Play Billing on Android and through the App Store on iOS. Payment is handled entirely by Google or Apple under their terms and privacy policies. We receive only the purchase record described above, which we use to deliver the item and to keep accounts in order.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only as follows:
- Google AdMob, to show and measure ads, as described above.
- Google Play and, on iOS, Apple, to process and verify purchases.
- Service providers that host our servers and store game data, and that provide crash reporting and analytics to us. They act on our instructions and may not use the information for their own purposes. A current list is available on request at theverbarium@gmail.com.
- Other players see your username, ranked tier and match results in ranked play and duels.
- Authorities and others where the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety and property of players, us or others.
- A buyer or successor if the game or our business is sold, merged or transferred. This policy will continue to apply to your information.
International transfers
Our service providers and Google may process information in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where information from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland is transferred to a country without an adequacy decision, we rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism.
How long we keep information
| Information | How long |
|---|---|
| Account, username and gameplay data | While your account exists. Deleted within 30 days of a deletion request. |
| Purchase records | As long as tax and accounting law requires, which can be several years after the purchase. |
| Crash reports | Up to 90 days. |
| Analytics events | Up to 14 months, then deleted or kept only in aggregated form that no longer identifies you. |
| Support messages | Up to 2 years after the conversation ends. |
| Website server logs | Up to 30 days. |
| Backups | Deleted data can remain in backups for up to 30 more days before it is overwritten. |
We may keep information longer where we need it to resolve a dispute, prevent fraud or abuse, or meet a legal obligation. Information held by AdMob, Google Play and Apple is kept under their own retention rules.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy;
- correct information that is wrong;
- delete your account and personal information (see Account and Data Deletion);
- receive your information in a portable format;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests, and restrict processing in some cases;
- withdraw consent to personalized ads at any time, without affecting processing that took place before;
- complain to your local data protection authority.
To use any of these rights, email theverbarium@gmail.com from the address you want us to reply to, and include your username. We may ask for information to confirm the account is yours. We answer within one month, or sooner where local law requires.
California privacy rights
If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA), gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose, to delete it, to correct it, and not to be treated differently for using these rights.
In the last 12 months we collected these categories of personal information for the purposes described in this policy: identifiers (username, player ID, device and advertising identifiers, IP address); commercial information (purchase records); internet or other electronic network activity (gameplay, crash and analytics data); and approximate geolocation derived from IP address or device settings.
We do not sell personal information for money. Allowing AdMob to show personalized ads may count as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under the CCPA. You can opt out by declining personalized ads in the game’s privacy options or by deleting your advertising ID in your device settings. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information.
To make a request, email theverbarium@gmail.com. You may use an authorized agent, and we may ask the agent for proof of authorization.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, do not use the game or create an account. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has given us personal information, email theverbarium@gmail.com and we will delete it. In the EEA, the UK and other places where a higher age is set for consent to data processing, players under that age need the permission of a parent or guardian.
Security
We protect information with encryption in transit, access controls and limited access for staff and service providers. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee the security of information sent over the internet.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the game, the law or our services change. We will post the new version on this page with a new “Last updated” date. If the changes are significant, we will also tell you in the game before they take effect.
